Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi felicitated Dwiti Chandra Sahu and Santosh Kumar Kar, two president’s award winning teachers of Odisha, at Lok Sewa Bhawan.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Principal Secretary ST SC Development, SSEPD and Culture, Bishnupada Sethi graced the occasion.

Congratulating them on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “It is a matter of pride for us that these two outstanding teachers from Odisha have been included in the 2024 National Awards ceremony.

Science teacher Santosh Kumar Kar has established himself as a well-known and ideal teacher by instilling interest in science in the application of innovative teaching methods and by explaining science education to children in an easy way.

Similarly, art teacher Dwiti Chandra Sahu’s fun teaching as well as displaying jana jati culture and art in education is a commendable task. Due to this high ideals and efforts of both of them, they have become praiseworthy at the national level today.

The Chief Minister further said that our government is making efforts to bring the best system in the education system of the state. Provisions have also been made in the budget for strengthening the education infrastructure.

To strengthen the foundation of children at the primary level, one ‘Godavarish Mishra Model Primary School’ will be opened in each panchayat. These schools will showcase the talent power of children at the elementary level and drop them to high schools. He said that in the coming days, it will bring a huge change in our education sector.

Shri Kar is a science teacher at Jai Durga High School on Narla Road in Kalahandi district while Dr. Sahu is working as an art teacher at Bilesu Government High School under the Scheduled Tribes and Caste Development Department of Rayagada district.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja said that it is the responsibility of our teaching community to make children a good citizen in future. Santosh Kumar Kar and Dwiti Chandra Sahu are inspirations for everyone working in the field of teaching.

Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary, ST SC Development, SSEPD and Culture lauded the efforts of the teachers and welcomed the meritorious teachers on the occasion and thanked them.

Ananya Das, Project Director, OSEPA co-ordinated the ceremony.
