Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today discussed the infrastructure development of Dharanidhar (DD) University, Keonjhar, recruitment of human resources and other related facilities opportunities at Lok Seva Bhavan.
In February 2023, Dharanidhar College was upgraded as an University. 38 colleges of the district are affiliated under this university. But as a university, all the basic facilities, opportunities and improvements have not been done so far.
Chief Minister Shri Majhi has directed the concerned officials to fulfill all the requirements to make the university self-sufficient within the next two years.
The Chief Minister ordered to invest the money required for the furniture of the newly built south block of the university and for the renovation of the north block from the district mineral fund and from the Odisha mineral bearing area development corporation fund and not to demolish the old building unless absolutely necessary.
The Chief Minister also asked to prepare a comprehensive master plan for all these works. The Chief Minister advised the District Collectors to remove the seizure of land required for renovation and look into their settlement arrangements. Shri Majhi directed IDCO to complete all the works of South Block under construction.
The dormitories are very old and in a deplorable condition. Therefore, the Chief Minister suggested the construction of 6 hostels with 6 floors for the students.
The Chief Minister directed to fill the posts of controller of examination, registrar and controller of education for the university as soon as possible.
ACS to CM Nikunj Bihari Dhal, Higher Education Secretary Arvind Agarwal, Dharanidhar University Vice Chancellor Pratap Kumar Mohanty and Keonjhar District Governor Avasi Singh were prominently present in the meeting.
