Bhubaneswar: Dr.Pradipta Mohanty, Chairman Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Odisha Council has said that CII is organising the CII MSME FinFest 2024 on 27 September at Jharsuguda.
Dr.Mohanty has said that CII MSME FinFest is being organized with the theme Empowering MSMEs: Access to Credit on Friday at Hotel Mayfair Oasis Resort, Jharsuguda.
CII Odisha Chief has said that senior Officials from MSME Industry, Financial Consultants and Experts, Representatives from Banks, Financial Institutions, NBFCs, Academic and Research Institutions will be addressing the Meet.
Dr.Mohanty lauded the initiative of the State Government saying “The Government of Odisha has been undertaking various initiatives and promotional activities to showcase Odisha’s industrial ecosystem and attract investments in various sectors from different parts of the country and the world.
With the country moving towards a more inclusive growth agenda, a robust MSME sector can accelerate the growth rate, as they do not necessitate huge investments while simultaneously acting as ancillary units to larger industries, said Dr.Mohanty.
CII Odisha Chief Dr.Mohanty said that while the MSME sector has shown impressive potential, it also faces a number of challenges to its growth story.
MSMEs needs support in terms of easy access to credit which stands to be the major enabler towards strengthening the ecosystem in the Country.
To address such issues, various Central and State Government schemes have been rolled out supported by government bodies, banks and financial institutions to infuse funds in this sector, said Dr.Mohanty.
Dr.Mohanty said that “A Credit Linkage Program for MSMEs aims to bridge the gap between MSMEs and financial institutions, ensuring easier access to credit and financial services”.
CII Odisha Chief said that “The main objective of this session will be to showcase current approaches and strategies on the various issues that confront MSME financing and provide value added service to MSME Members on finance related topics”.
One to One B2B meetings between MSME companies and experts drawn from Banks, Financial Institutions and NBFCs will be planned in this session based on members’ interests, said the Chief Of CII in Odisha.
In addition, experts from Banks, Financial Institutions, NBFCs, Government and Industry stalwarts would be addressing at this session.
Presenting facts on the State CII Odisha Chief Dr.Mohanty said “ Odisha, located strategically contiguous to states of southern, central, and eastern parts of India, is a treasure trove of natural resources. It has a rich heritage, a vibrant present, and a huge potential for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
He said that “Access to global markets, the presence of qualified human resource, robust infrastructure, stable polity and a positive business environment”.
Odisha has evolved to become one of the key industrial investment destinations in the Eastern India, said Dr.Mohanty, Chairman CII Odisha Council.
