Chouhan Prays Jagannath For Agri Boost

Puri: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, today sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath for a significant boost to the nation’s agricultural sector. His prayer came during a visit to the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, just before he launched the nationwide ‘Developed Agricultural Resolution Campaign’ (Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan) from this holy city.

Before the official launch, the Minister, accompanied by his wife Sadhna Singh, offered prayers at the revered Shree Jagannath Temple.

In a post on platform ‘X’, Minister Shri Chouhan expressed his profound wish, stating, “Jagannath’s rice, the world spread its hands,” signifying a prayer for abundant food for all. He further sought Lord Jagannath’s blessings for the success of the campaign, hoping that “the food stores remain full.”

This visit marked Minister Shri Chouhan’s maiden trip to Odisha as the Union Agriculture Minister. He was joined by Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister K. V. Singh Deo and SJTA Chief Administrator Dr. Arabinda Padhee. Dr. Padhee also holds the position of Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment in the Odisha Government, highlighting the collaborative efforts for this significant agricultural initiative.

The ‘Developed Agricultural Resolution Campaign’ aims to connect scientists with farmers, promote modern agricultural technologies, and raise awareness about government schemes to boost agricultural productivity and farmers’ income across the country.

The 15-day campaign, launched from Puri, will see Minister Shri Chouhan travel to nearly 20 states, engaging directly with farmers and agricultural experts. Sources
