Speaking to Media persons, Dr.Kumar appealed to all other political leaders, who left Congress for different reasons, to come back to the party and unitedly fight with the BJD and BJP in Odisha.
The Congress party has initiated its exercise to put the house in order before landing at the battlefield for the 2024 fight. Dr.Kumar also hinted that five-time MLA and former Minister Balabhadra Majhi would join Congress soon. Shri Majhi had quit the BJD recently.
“I am delighted to resume my work at the party. However, I had never been indulged in anti-party activities. I will discharge the duties that the party will offer me in the future,” Md.Moquim said.
On July 15, 2023, the Disciplinary Action Committee of AICC suspended Moquim and Chiranjib from the party on the grounds of ‘anti-party’ activities.
Earlier, the party had suspended former Koraput legislator Krishna Chandra Sagaria on January 19, 2019, for indulging in anti-party activities. He had resigned from the post of MLA in 2018.
“I had joined the Congress since my college days being influenced by its ideologies. The suspension order from the party had pained me a lot. However, it was revoked after five years. I will definitely work for the Congress as per the instructions made by the party leadership. I will try to become an asset for the party,” Shri Sagaria said.
Notably, the Congress is facilitating the return of a host of senior leaders of the party who in the past jumped to other political outfits under different circumstances with an eye on the 2024 elections in Odisha. Former Odisha chief minister Giridhar Gamang, 80, rejoined the Congress along with his wife and son, after nine years, on January 17.
Prior to that senior tribal leader from south Odisha Jayram Pangi had joined the Congress family. The joining of the Gamang family, Shri Pangi and Shri Sagaria, will definitely help the grand old party to succeed in its stronghold, undivided Koraput district, a political observer said.
