Koraput: Shri Prem Chandra Chaudhary, Secretary of the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department, Government of Odisha, conducted an extensive field visit to Koraput district to monitor and expedite various developmental initiatives.
As the designated Nodal Officer for the district, Shri Chaudhary was accompanied by the Collector and District Magistrate of Koraput, Shri Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, during the inspection of several critical projects across multiple sectors.

The tour commenced with a focus on the fisheries sector, where the Secretary visited the Biofloc facility located at Bariniput within the Jeypore Block. He further inspected the fish seed production center in Putra to assess the technical capacities and output of the facility. These visits underline the state government’s commitment to enhancing local livelihood opportunities through modernized aquaculture practices.
Education and skill development were also high on the administrative agenda. Shri Chaudhary visited the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Ambaguda and the high school managed by the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Development Department in Nuagaon. During these visits, he engaged in direct interactions with students to evaluate the quality of education and infrastructure. The Secretary also inspected the Sudaksha Center in Kotpad Block, which plays a pivotal role in providing specialized training and coaching to students from marginalized communities.

In Jeypore Municipality, the Secretary reviewed urban infrastructure and essential services, including the waste management center and the local sports complex. At the District Headquarters Hospital, he held discussions with the medical staff and doctors to address operational challenges and ensure the effective delivery of healthcare services to the public.

According to senior officials, this visit is part of a broader strategy where Nodal Officers are mandated to engage directly with stakeholders at the grassroots level. The primary objective of Shri Chaudhary’s tour was to identify field-level bottlenecks in the implementation of state schemes and ensure the timely resolution of problems to optimize the impact of developmental projects in Koraput district.
