Bhawanipatna: Chief Electoral Officer Nikunja Bihari Dhal reviewed the preparedness for the ensuing elections in Nuapada and Kalahandi districts under Kalahandi MP segment.
Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) Northern Division Srikanta Prusty, DIG of Police (South Western Range) Charan Singh Meena has also participated in this poll preparedness review meeting and took stock of the law and order situation.
CEO Shri Dhal reviewed the various aspects of the election preparations in the two districts keeping in view the upcoming simultaneous general election-2024.
He held a detailed discussion with all the officials engaged in the election duty, election management, law and order situation, polling centers, voter facilities, opinions and proposals of political parties, use of various applications issued by the Election Commission of India etc.
Shri Dhal emphasized on increase in voting rate in the Parliamentary Constituency.
The CEO directed the officials of various departments such as forest, transport, police, unemployment and state GST departments to work in harmony with each other.
Speaking to media persons, Shri Dhal said polling for Kalahandi MP constituency along with seven MLA segments will be held on May 13.
A detailed discussion was held with the Collectors, SPs, returning officers, SDPOs, and other officials of the two districts about smooth conduct of the polls.
The district administrations are fully prepared to conduct the elections in a free and fair manner. All kinds of arrangements have been made for voters at the polling stations.
The CEO appealed to all voters to come out of their home and participate in the festival of democracy.
