Central Prabhari Visits Koraput

Koraput: Over the course of three days this week, Koraput district became a hub of intensive administrative review as Shri Satyajit Mishra, Joint Secretary to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India conducted a thorough assessment of the region’s developmental pulse.

Serving as the Central Prabhari Officer for the district, Shri Mishra’s visit from April 7 to 9 was marked by a series of site inspections and direct dialogues aimed at refining the delivery of critical government initiatives.

The tour, coordinated by District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, bridged the gap between urban infrastructure and rural empowerment.

JS Shri Mishra began his rounds at the Gandhinagar Urban Primary Health Centre and the PM Shri Government Girls High School. These visits allowed him to hear firsthand from healthcare workers, educators, and students about the tangible impact of state and central support on the ground.

Agriculture and local industry remained a high priority throughout the itinerary. In Rajput village, Shri Mishra inspected a millet processing unit, a project that highlights the growing role of Women’s Self-Help Groups in the local economy. This was followed by a visit to a coffee nursery in Daleiguda and flourishing strawberry cultivation sites in Karanjiaguda, showcasing the district’s diverse ecological and economic potential.

The visit also looked toward the future of connectivity and tourism. Shri Mishra took time to inspect the OD 07 Twin Tunnel, a major component of the Bharatmala Project, which promises to enhance the region’s logistical framework. He also visited the popular Deomali tourist spot to discuss strategies for regional growth through sustainable tourism.

Social welfare was highlighted during a stop at the Light House Project Anganwadi Center in Bogeipadar. There, the Joint Secretary interacted with young children and beneficiaries, ensuring that the foundational layers of community support are functioning effectively.

The marathon assessment culminated in a formal review meeting at the Sadbhabana Sabha Gruha. Joined by the Chief District Medical Officer, the District Education Officer, and various block officials, JS Shri Mishra and Collector Shri Mahajan analyzed the progress of various schemes.

Central Prabhari Officer, Shri Mishra made a final stop at the Coffee Board in Koraput, concluding a visit that emphasized a collaborative, multi-sectoral approach to the district’s future growth.
