Bhubaneswar:The 76th Foundation Day of Bhubaneswar was celebrated today. Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena was the chief guest at the function jointly organised by the State Information and Public Relations Department, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and The Capital Foundation Day Celebration Committee. Bande Utkal Janani Anthem was performed on the occasion. At the outset, The Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, Rajesh Prabhakar Patil welcomed all the guests. Later, the guests offered bouquets at the foundation stone plaque of the capital.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary said that on April 13, 1948, the land was established to establish Bhubaneswar as a planned city. Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar today has emerged as one of the leading clean, beautiful and green cities in the country. Over a period of time, it has expanded. Describing the capital’s foundation day as the birthday of the new Bhubaneswar, Chief Secretary Shri Jena said that the residents of Bhubaneswar should continue to make efforts to maintain its cleanliness, greenery and beauty.
Director General of Police Arun Kumar Sarangi, Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Sanjeeb Panda, Vice Chairman of Bhubaneswar Development Authority Balwant Singh, Director of Information and Public Relations Department Saroj Kumar Samal, District Collector, Khurda, Chanchal Rana were the guests of honor on the occasion.
Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh, President of The Capital Foundation Day Celebration Committee Pradosh Patnaik, Vice President Pradyumna Kumar Mohanty and General Secretary Sanat Mishra were also present on the occasion.
Later, on the occasion of this day, Chief Secretary Shri Jena inaugurated a photo exhibition organized jointly by the State Information and Public Relations Department and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation at Jayadev Bhawan. Many old and new photographs carrying the old memories of the establishment of Bhubaneswar Capital and the heritage, culture and heritage of the capital were placed in this exhibition. Among the various photographs, the first festival of the establishment of our capital, the capital Bhubaneswar in the mirror of the past, the important soudha of Bhubaneswar, various heritage sites with beautiful artworks of Bhubaneswar, major fair festivals of the capital and various photographs related to our capital were displayed in various books. The exhibition was organized under the supervision of Mr. Surya Ranjan Mohanty, Joint Director, Department of Information and Public Relations.
