Bhubaneswar: Biju Patnaik National Steel Institute (BPNSI) has successfully conducted Swachhata Pakhwada from 16-31 March in alignment with the Swachhata Mission under the directives of the Ministry of Steel.
The campaign featured a series of activities aimed at promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental sustainability.
BPNSI Initiative commenced with a cleaning drive at BPNSI’s Ispat Bhawan office, led by Director Pritam S. Purkayastha, with enthusiastic participation from employees.
This was followed by Shramadan activities at an Anganwadi Center at Unit 4, a mass awareness campaign at Unit 4 Market, and a Swachhata seminar to educate employees on best hygiene practices.
BPNSI expanded its efforts beyond office premises by organizing a slum area cleaning drive in Sastri Nagar, a beach clean-up at Puri, and a pond cleaning drive at Narendra Kona, Puri, reinforcing its commitment to environmental conservation.
Other notable events included a plantation drive, a painting competition for school children, a Nukkad Natak on climate resilience, and an anti-plastic awareness campaign at Unit 4 Fish Market.
The campaign concluded with a signature campaign, reaffirming BPNSI’s dedication to cleanliness and sustainability.
