Boudh: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi brought a wave of optimism to the western Odisha town of Boudh today, announcing that train services will soon commence as the long-awaited railway line project nears its final stages. The announcement came during his visit to Boudh, where he undertook a comprehensive review of ongoing developmental initiatives, with the railway project taking center stage.
Collector and District Magistrate Subrat Kumar Panda presented Chief Minister a warm welcome along with the elected representatives of the District of Boudh.
Highlighting the significant progress of the Khurda-Bolangir railway line, Chief Minister Shri Majhi noted its successful extension up to Nayagarh. “The train will soon roll into Boudh,” he affirmed, underscoring the imminent connectivity boost for the region. Officials present at the review meeting further informed the Chief Minister that the construction of the railway station building in Boudh is also progressing rapidly and is expected to be completed shortly.
Beyond railway infrastructure, Chief Minister Shri Majhi outlined a series of developments poised to enhance the quality of life in Boudh. He announced the upcoming inauguration of a 300-bedded hospital and a new bus stand, signaling a significant strengthening of the town’s healthcare and transportation infrastructure.

The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction with the overall momentum of various developmental projects within the Boudh district, including the construction of vital roads and bridges, the implementation of drinking water supply projects, and the strengthening of education and health infrastructure.
However, he also issued a firm directive to the district administration to accelerate the pace of projects experiencing delays, emphasizing the need for timely completion. “No compromise will be tolerated on the quality of work,” Chief Minister Shri Majhi asserted, mandating a more stringent and regular inspection system to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Recognizing the pivotal role of community involvement in successful development, Chief Minister Shri Majhi advised officials to proactively engage with local residents. “Informing the local people about the projects and incorporating their valuable opinions will foster greater transparency and ensure these initiatives are truly people-oriented,” he emphasized.
Chief Minister was happy to see as to how District Administration of Boudh led by Collector Shri Panda has proactively delivering services in far flung areas of the District.
To address potential roadblocks in project execution, Chief Minister Shri Majhi assured the District Administration of the state government’s full support and urged them to coordinate closely. He even offered his personal intervention if necessary to expedite progress.
Looking ahead, Chief Minister Shri Majhi urged district officials to prioritize key sectors such as education, health, sports, and agriculture, suggesting the formulation of a comprehensive action plan to drive advancements in these areas.
Reiterating his government’s commitment to good governance, Chief Minister Shri Majhi stated, “Our primary objective is to maintain utmost transparency in all government schemes and projects. Every official must ensure the judicious utilization of public funds and that the intended benefits reach the citizens. Any instances of irregularities will be met with swift and decisive action.”
Later in the day, Chief Minister Shri Majhi joined the enthusiastic residents of Sarsara panchayat in Boudh district for the ‘Sindoor Yatra’. This vibrant procession was organized to celebrate the resounding success of Operation Sindoor, a significant operation undertaken by the Indian armed forces against terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
