BJP On Aggressive Mode

Bhubaneswar: With the nearing of general and Assembly elections in Odisha, the State BJP has geared up with a team spirit to tackle the BJD Government.

BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda is visiting the State on 22-23 June. Leaders and workers seem hyperactive.

During the past few days, the BJP has been attacking the State Government over different issues and organizing demonstrations and protests across the State. Starting from late Minister Naba Das’ murder case to power outage, the BJP has been continuously attacking the Government. The MPs have become hyperactive in their constituencies.

Now, it seems that the BJP has put top gear in its fight against the ruling BJD. Recently, BJP Spokesperson and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi has made a scathing attack on the power centre and ignited a public debate.

Surprisingly, many senior BJP leaders backed Shrimati Sarangi, which indicates that the State BJP camp came to aggrieved mode with clearance of the National leadership.

Some senior BJP MPs like Jual Oram and Basant Panda, who remained not-much active in media for several years, became active now. Jual Oram, the former Union Minister, has also joined the camp with active participation.

There are discussions at New Delhi circle that Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ashwini Vaishnaw are likely to contest next Lok Sabha polls from Odisha. Pradhan may contest from either Dhenkanal seat or Sambalpur constituency. He has been holding several public meetings and other programmes in both LS segments during past several days.

Similarly, Railway Minister Shri Vaishnaw may contest the Lok Sabha poll either from Balasore or Cuttack. He had announced redevelopment of Cuttack railway station and Rs 2 crore for development of Bahanaga village, where the train accident took place on June 2 evening.

While addressing the Balasore locals yesterday, Shri Vaishnaw became emotional while remembering his earlier days in Balasore when he was serving as Collector of the district.

“The local people were calling me Ashwini Bhai, not Collector Sir.  During the 1999 super cyclone, Balasore showed the way on saving human lives. Now, on June 2 also, the Balsore people again set a model for the entire nation. People across India are praising the local people for the humanitarian approach they have shown on that evening,” he said.

Stating that he will always remain indebted to the Balasore people for their selfless services rendered during the train tragedy, Vaishnaw said, “I will never forget the help of the people and I will be available for any kind of support for the people of Balasore.”

This statement of Shri Vaishnaw indicates the speculation of fighting from Balasore LS seat.

Meanwhile, BJP National President Shri Nadda is scheduled to visit Jharsuguda tomorrow and move to Kalahandi on 23 June to address a large public gathering to present the achievements of 9 years of Modi Government.

During his last visit to Odisha, Shri Nadda had criticized the State Government terming it as a ‘Duplicate Sarkar’. Now all eyes are on his speech in Kalahandi. Nadda will give direction to the State BJP for their fight for 2024 polls.
