Bhubaneswar : The BJP has initiated the process of selection of candidates for remaining 35 Assembly seats and the names will be declared by April 20, BJP’s Odisha Election in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar said today.
While the saffron party has already announced all 21 Lok Sabha candidates in the state, it has declared nominees for 112 of the 147 Assembly seats so far.
Speaking to reporters after his arrival in Bhubaneswar today, Tomar said some candidates’ names will be announced in the next two to three days.
He informed that the party is going to change candidates for one Assembly seat due to some technical fault as the seat is reserved for ST. BJP is going to change its candidate for Pottangi Assembly reserved for ST, sources said.
Asserting that BJP will perform well in the twin elections, Tomar said the party will put up an impressive show in both Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies.
“We will form the government in Odisha with a clear majority in the Assembly. The party will perform well in Lok Sabha seats too,” Tomar added.
