Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is heading towards landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections in the State. Out of 21 seats, the BJP is leading in 19 seats while BJD was leading in only one seat and Congress at one.
As per the latest trend available in the ECI website, the BJP was leading in the remaining 19 seats while the ruling BJD was leading only in the Jajpur Lok Sabha segment and Congress was leading in the Koraput seat.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was leading by 60,011 votes against his nearest rival and BJD stalwart leader Pranab Prakash Das. Senior BJP leaders including former union ministers Jual Oram & Pratap Sarangi, national Spokesperson Aparajita Sarangi & Sambit Patra, Vice-president Baijayant Panda, and six-time MP Bhartruhari Mahtab are leading against their rival candidates.
Berhampur MP candidate from BJP, Pradeep Panigrahy was leading by 58709 votes, Aska nominee Anita Subhadarshini was leading by 18755 votes and Rudra Narayan Pany was leading with 21318 votes.
In 2019, the BJD had won 12 MP seats while BJP got eight seats and Congress was able to win only one seat. The Congress continue to lead in the lone Koraput seat in 2024 too.
