BJP Demands Action On Gandhi

Bhubaneswar: The State unit of BJP today held demonstrations in different parts of Odisha including capital city Bhubaneswar demanding action against Congress top leader Rahul Gandhi alleging he had physically assaulted two BJP MPs Paratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput in Parliament on 19 December.

Senior BJP leaders led by State President Manmohan Samal participated in the demonstration organized here before the Governor’s House.

The BJP leaders alleged that the two MPs were attacked and beaten up by the so-called or self-proclaimed youth leader of the Congress Rahul Gandhi in front of the Parliament.

The country has condemned this incident. Due to this, the image of modern Indian democracy, which has completed 75 years, has been tarnished all over the world, they said.

In addition, a memorandum has been submitted to the Governor in the name of His Excellency the President.

Shri Samal condemned the hooliganism and behavior of the opposition party leader Rahul Gandhi in the Parliament yesterday. The Congress party has tarnished the dignity of the Indian Constitution.

Because of him, Odisha MP Sarangi was injured and is admitted to the ICU and is undergoing treatment. The attack on two BJP MPs in the Parliament, the highest temple of democracy, will be recorded as a black day in history, he said.

His attack was not only on the people’s representatives but also on the temple of democracy. This incident raises an alarm about the safety of elected representatives, Samal said.

“The attack on Odia MP has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Odia people. Odisha will never tolerate such an insult,” he added.

The work and speech of the Congress party reflects the history of divisive and violent politics.

The BJP leaders submitted a memorandum to the President through the Governor.  The BJP organized similar protests in Kendrapara, Balasore, and other places.
