BJD To Celebrate Odisha Day

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal will celebrate the 89th Odisha Day, which marks the historic formation of the state of Odisha on April 1, 1936. The celebration, which will take place across the state, will honour the sacrifices, struggle, and contributions of the great sons of Odisha who played a key role in the creation of the state on a linguistic basis.

In a press conference held today at Sankha Bhawan, Debi Prasad Mishra, Chairman of the Coordination Committee, and Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Convenor of the Party’s Membership Campaign Committee, outlined the details of the celebrations.

Shri Mishra highlighted the significance of Odisha Day, noting that it is a day to reflect on the remarkable history of Odisha and the great men and women who fought for its linguistic identity. He also emphasized Odisha’s global recognition for its rich cultural heritage and the importance of keeping this legacy alive for future generations.

Shri Nayak shared that under the leadership of party president, Naveen Patnaik, the BJD has planned a statewide commemoration of the occasion. Celebrations will include photo tributes, discussion circles, and gatherings at the statues of notable historical figures who played a pivotal role in Odisha’s formation. These tributes will take place in every constituency and district office across the state.

The main event will be held in Bhubaneswar district at Shankha Bhavan and will be graced by the presence of Shri Naveen Patnaik, the party president.
