Bhubaneswar: Bishnupada Sethi Principal Secretary, Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities said that Statesman, Biju Patnaik was a symbol of Odisha’s self-respect, prosperity and prosperity.
The legendary Leader presented Odisha’s unique identity outside Odisha. And his role in the formation of modern Odisha was significant, said Shri Sethi, who was Chief Guest of the Ceremony organized by the Department of Information and Public Relations at Jayadev Bhawan here on 16 April.
Principal Secretary Shri Sethi said that Biju Babu influenced odisha’s politics, economy, cultural awakening and consciousness movement in a big way, he opined on the state-level death anniversary of Biju Patnaik.
Principal Secretary, SSEPD Shri Sethi, who was the Chief Guest at the said that the legendary Biju Patnaik was a great hero. He was a character that changed the course of time and history. Not only India, but Indonesia and Russia, most of all, he was praised for his bravery. His dreams, courage and valour are very poignant.
Just as Madhubabu had always propagated the name Utkal, Biju babu used the word Kalinga very emotionally. That is why he tried to revive the glorious history of the state by naming various industrial institutions, educational institutions and state awards after Kalinga, the Principal Secretary Shri Sethi said.
Eminent educationist and columnist, Abhiram Biswal, who was the keynote speaker at the event, highlighted the outstanding personality, achievements and achievements of Biju Babu. He said paradip port, women empowerment, three-tier panchayati raj system are just some of his many contributions. Be it industrial development or infrastructure, welfare of the poor or empowerment of mothers, he has worked as a visionary in every field. From agriculture to industry, from education to empowerment, Dr. Biswal said that he has made immense contributions.
Saroj Kumar Samal, Director, Department of Information & Public Relations presided over the function and said that Biju Patnaik will always be a namaste for the Odia nation, for the state and the country. After Biju babu’s death, his body was covered with the national flags of three nations. Biju Patnaik entered the state politics and became the Chief Minister in 1961 and took many important and visionary steps for the development of Odisha. He said that his ideals will remain exemplary for the people of the state.
At the outset, the guests paid floral tributes to the portrait of the legendary Biju Patnaik.
