Bhubaneswar: They have kept their eyes on Mission 2029. Congress Veteran Bhakta Charan Das and Youth Stalwart Navajyoti Patnaik is concerned about future of Congress. And both of them are having Long Term Vision.
At a time when many senior leaders have left the grand old party, the AICC has picked up two rising stars Bhakta Charan Das and Navajyoti Patnaik to set the party on right track to give a tough fight to BJD and BJP in the State.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has appointed Shri Das as Chairman of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee’s Campaign Committee while Shri Patnaik is the Vice-Chairman of the top panel set up for upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls.
The party high command has given them crucial responsibility for the election. Both Bhakta Das, a former Union Minister and Navajyoti are excellant organizers and have a long experience in politics, which will definitely help the party to prepare a strong strategy against BJD and BJP in this election, said an insider.
While Shri Das is contesting the Assembly election from Narla segment, Shri Patnaik has decided to devote full time for organization.
Shri Patnaik is carrying youth and students along with him. And organizing the party in Coastal Zones is the task.
Shri Das an able organizer will continue to set the House on right track, while keeping an eye on 2029, insiders say.
Both of them are determined to make the Congress Organization stronger and robust, for which they are setting the agenda.
First meeting of the Campaign Committee was held here at Congress Bhawan today, where a detailed discussion was held on various aspects of campaigning and central leaders to be invited for the campaign, sources said.
Shri Das said that the people of Odisha shall bless Congress to power at the State and the Center in the forthcoming election. If the Congress cadres are able to reach out the message of 9 Nyayas, 25 Guarantees and 9 PCC Guarantees to every household in every booth of the State, the Congress will come to power in Odisha and Centre also, he said.
Stating that Congress has the best poll manifesto for the welfare of the people of the State and the country, he urged all party workers to reach every household with the manifesto.
The first meeting chalked out the micro and macro- level campaign strategy for all the Assembly and Lok Sabha Constituencies of Odisha. Soon the campaign will start from Srikhetra with the blessings of Lord Jagannath, Shri Das informed.
Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address a public meeting to be held at the birth place of Utkal Gaurab Madhu Babu on his Jayanti.
Along with the Chief, Bhakta Charan Das, the Vice President of Campaign Committee Navajyoti Patnaik and Co-ordinator Sudhansu Sekhar Deo shared their plans to grass root the PCC campaign in the State.
Among others, Congress leaders Amiya Pandab, Ziaul Haque, Panchanan Kanungo, Bankanidhi Behera, Arya Gyanendra, Bijayalaxmi Sahoo, Nakul Naik, Manas Choudhury, Biswajit Das, Dasarathi Gamango, Jacab Pradhan, Sasmita Behera, Pruthvi Ballabh Patnaik, Padmakar Guru, Ranjita Rout, Bandita Parida, Bishnu Charan Barik, and Jitendra Biswal attended the meeting.
