Balakrishnan Lauds Konark Fest

Konark: The Open Air Theatre of Konark conveyed the spirit of dedication in harmony of emotion and emotion with bhakti rasa. On the third evening of the Konark festival organized by the Tourism Department, the audience was enthralled with classical dances.

Culture Czar, R. Balakrishnan, Chief Advisor (Special Initiatives), Chief Minister’s Office(CMO) inaugurated the Show, while lauding the efforts of Department of Tourism.

Director Tourism and MD OTDC, Sachin Ramchand Jadav coordinated the Show.

Ranjan Kumar Das, Chief Administrator of Shri Jagannath Temple; Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi President Guru Aruna Mohanty graced the occasion.

Rosalin Mohapatra and the artists of her Devadasi Sansthan presented Saraswati Vandana. Shilpi, the goddess of speech holding harps and books, created the consciousness of spreading the light of knowledge by removing the darkness of ignorance.

Later, the artists of Devadasi Sansthan performed Jagannath for ages, in the era of Jana Sammohini Pallavi and Nrityavinaya. The incarnation of Shri Jagannath has protected the creation of Satya, Tretaya, Dwapar and Kali Yuga. The victory of truth over untruth and religion over iniquity has been blown away. The dance structure was very interesting with the mythological title.

In the second phase, the performance of Param Leela based on devotional philosophy in the presentation of Satriya dancer Anwesha Mahanta and companions enthralled the audience with emotion and devotion. The expression of the vaishnava saint’s dedication to the melodious playing of khol and cymbals made the heart feel godly.

Satriya, the artist of Kalpavriksha Nritya Sansthan, captured the combined theory of nature and man in a verbal appeal. The artists explained the classicality and devotional principles of satriya dance in the perfect manifestation of Shri Jagannath Vandana and Shuddh Nritya Chali Ram Dani composed by Acharya Shrimanta Shankar Dev.

On the third day, sand artists at Chandrabhaga beach made sand art in Golden Bali on the theme of sports and women empowerment. A crowd of tourists was seen on the banks of Chandrabhaga today to witness the international sand art performance. Tourists are of the view that the sand art performance of Chandrabhagavela Bhoomi along with classical dance on the muktaakash stage has made the atmosphere of Konark an art-culture friendly.

Mrutyunjay Rath and Sanghati Pani presented the program while Sangeeta Gosain along with Department of Tourism officials and office bearers of Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi assisted in the conduct.
