Bhubaneswar: Spiritual leader and Padma Shri awardee, Shriyukta Baba Balia, today made a fervent appeal to Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi to ensure the principles of the Shrimad Bhagavat reach every Odia household.
Speaking at the Shrimad Bhagavat Mahotsav organized by the Dharma Jagran Samiti in Bhubaneswar, Baba Balia lauded the new government’s commitment to culture and tradition.
“I thank the state government and the Chief Minister, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, for implementing the Odia Asmita flawlessly,” the spiritual guru stated. He expressed strong confidence that under the Chief Minister’s leadership, a renewal of God consciousness, encompassing Odia language, culture, and literature, would take place across the state.
Chief Minister Shri Majhi, who also addressed the gathering, responded by affirming the state government’s dedication to cultural and spiritual upliftment. He announced the government’s commitment to reviving and establishing the Bhagavat in every Odia home and the Bhagavat Tungi (community reading center) in every village.
The Chief Minister highlighted the youth’s pivotal role in society, calling Bhagavat reading a “powerful tool” to guide them morally. He urged citizens to recite the Bhagavad Gita daily to foster a healthy, ethical, and spiritually balanced life, linking the festival to social unity and progress.
The event, which concluded with a focus on the five fundamental principles of the Shrimad Bhagavat Granth, underscored the collective resolve of spiritual and political leadership in Odisha to champion cultural and religious values.
The event saw the welcome address delivered by Shri Chandra Kant, Eastern Region President of Dharma Jagran Samiti, and the vote of thanks by Swami Brahmananda Saraswati, coordinator of the Samiti.
