Bhubaneswar: Adopting zero tolerance towards corruption, the State Government has dismissed 120 employees including officers and given compulsory retirement to 39 other officials during the last five years, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi told the Assembly today.
In a written reply to a query of BJD legislator Dhruba Charan Sahoo, the Chief Minister said, “120 government officers and employees have been dismissed while another 39 officials were forced to take compulsory retirement for indulging in corruption and acquiring disproportionate assets, during 2020 to 2024.”
The government has seized assets worth Rs 89.47 crore from these public servants, he said.
While 31 government officials were dismissed from services in the year 2023, 30 officials were terminated in 2024, and 27 in 2020. Similarly, the government has dismissed 16 officials in 2020 and 2021 each year, as per the reply of Majhi.
Out of 39 government officers and employees who were forced to retire, 23 officials took the premature retirement in 2021 and 13 in 2022 while one each official given compulsory retirement in the other years (2020, 2023 & 2024).
