Bhubaneswar: Health and Family Welfare Secretary, Ashwathi S, has urged the public not to panic regarding recent COVID-19 cases, assuring that the state government is closely monitoring the situation and is fully prepared to handle any developments.
Since the significant control of COVID-19 in 2020-21, various states across the country have reported cases presenting with mild COVID symptoms.
Health Secretary Smt.Aswathy highlighted that public fear surrounding the disease has been kept under control due to widespread vaccination efforts and continuous governmental initiatives, leading to COVID-19 being completely under control in Odisha.
She further explained that the observed mild cases are being treated according to prescribed protocols. In line with standards set by the National Centre for Disease Control and the World Health Organization, these cases are attributed to relatively slower strains of the virus that are already known and are not anticipated to cause severe illness.
The Health and Family Welfare Department is fully equipped for the diagnosis and treatment of all such cases.
