Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to accelerate the industrial trajectory of Odisha, a high-level delegation from the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) recently conducted a series of strategic meetings with the top leadership of the Government of Odisha.
The delegation, led by Secretary General Shri Saurabh Sanyal and accompanied by Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, Chairman of the ASSOCHAM Odisha State Development Council, held extensive discussions with Chief Secretary Shrimati Anu Garg.
The deliberations centered on a multi-sectoral approach to economic growth, specifically targeting the expansion of manufacturing, clean energy, and food processing. A primary objective of these engagements is to bridge the gap between policy intent and industrial execution by fostering a more robust industry-government collaboration.
During the meeting with Chief Secretary Anu Garg, the team explored the potential for an Odisha Food Sector Investment Roadshow, a dedicated initiative designed to showcase the state’s agricultural abundance and processing potential to global and domestic investors.
Furthering this outreach, the ASSOCHAM leadership met with Shri Sampad Swain, Minister for Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education. These talks emphasized the critical role of skill development in creating a future-ready workforce to support the state’s burgeoning industrial clusters. The chamber reiterated its commitment to the Viksit Odisha 2036 vision spearheaded by Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, as well as the national Viksit Bharat 2047 goal outlined by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
ASSOCHAM Leadership also called on Shri Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Industries and I&PR. Shri sharma held detailed discussion with Team ASSOCHAM led by Shri Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary General of ASSOCHAM, Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, Chairman of ASSOCHAM Odisha State Development Council & CMD of MGM Group, Shrimati Preminder Jeet Kaur, Head, States & UTs of ASSOCHAM, Shri Priyabrata Mishra, State Head, ASSOCHAM Odisha.
The Team presented the initiatives taken by ASSOCHAM during these years and expressed their continued commitment to strengthen the industrial ecosystem of India as well as Odisha. They also requested the cooperation of the State Government for their future initiatives and endeavors.
Under the guidance of Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, the Odisha State Development Council is actively working to position the state as a premier investment destination.
By aligning with state-led initiatives like the Purvodaya vision and enhancing the ease of doing business, ASSOCHAM aims to transform Odisha’s resource-rich economy into a high-value manufacturing and technology hub. These collaborative efforts are expected to drive sustainable development and create large-scale employment opportunities across the region.
