Bhubaneswar: Just a day before announcement of schedule for MP and MLA elections in Odisha, Odia movie actor and BJD General Secretary Arindam Roy today resigned from the Governing party.
Arindam, a dynamic and talented personality having connect with people has tendered his resignation to BJD Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
In his resignation letter, Arindam said he has been working in the Biju Janata Dal since 2009, and have been the Star Campaigner of your party since 2014.
He has been working at the ground level as observer in various elections in Cuttack, Tirtol, Tirtol by elections, Koraput (Zilla Parishad & Municipality elections), Shri Roy said.
“But with a heavy heart I am very sorry to say that my work has not yet been recognized by you or your appointed members. I have been trying to meet my leader, which is you, for quite some time, but unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to meet you,” he mentioned his dissatisfaction in the letter.
Therefore, he felt that he does not fit the criteria of meeting the BJD chief, and has no place in the party.
Shri Roy resigned from the post of General Secretary, BJD and the Primary Membership of the ruling party. “I hope you will understand my situation and not hold any grudge against me,” he added.
The Ollywood actor has recently met senior BJP leaders including Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and held discussions with him on development of Railways in Odisha.
