Bhubaneswar: Acclaimed poet and ace administrator Bishnupada Sethi’s book of poems translated from English to Hindi by renowned translator Dr Ajit Prasad titled ‘Rajini Ka Sangeet And Other Poems’, published by Vishwamukti, a leading organization working for state language and Raj Bhasha in India, was unveiled by KISS University on Sunday evening at the Conference Hall.
Prof. Sachidanand Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University, in his address as the special guest at the launch event, narrated an incident of his own experience by expressing that translating is a difficult task, for which body and mind needed for its success.
One of the distinguished guests, Dr. Chakradhar Tripathy, a renowned professor of Hindi literature and Vice-Chancellor of Central University, Odisha, in his speech, has not been able to see the successful translation of Odia literature into Indian languages from ancient to modern. However, poet Bishnupada’s efforts at poetry are commendable and thanked the translator Dr Ajit Prasad.
Translator and Professor Dr.Ajit Prasad said in his speech that it was not translated, it was an act of requisiteness and it was a difficult sadhana and recited a translated poem. Prof. Shashank Chudamani, eminent litterateur and editor, who was one of the guests of honour, highlighted a comparative and practical aspect of translation and how odia literature has become world-class through translation.
On this occasion, the original poet, translator, cover page artist of the book, Gajendra Sahu and The Publisher of Vishwamukti, Sabita Das were felicitated with bouquets. In response to the felicitation, Poet Bishnupada Sethi said it is a literal expression of his ten-year-old intimate experience. For this, he published a number of poems based on the experience of the saint poet Bhimbhoi.
Prof. Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice Chancellor, KISS University, in his welcome address congratulated the poets, translators and publishers and said that this Hindi book is a boon for Indian students, readers and researchers.
Dr. Rashmita Tripathy thanked the intellectuals and researchers present there, while Dr. Ranjita Jena, Head of The Department of Hindi, KISS University coordinated the program.
