New Delhi: India is set to host over 600 Internet experts, policymakers, and technology leaders this September for the 62nd APNIC Conference (APNIC 62), with a major focus on how Artificial Intelligence is reshaping global Internet infrastructure. Organized by the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre and hosted by NIXI and ISPAI, the event centers on preparing regional networks for the intense demands created by AI-driven services, automated network management, and cybersecurity.
The rise of AI is driving an unprecedented surge in digital traffic, forcing network operators to modernize their core architecture. Industry leaders at the conference will examine how AI applications require higher bandwidth, lower latency, and more resilient data routing. At the same time, AI-powered automation is becoming essential for managing complex modern networks and identifying security threats in real time.
Keynote speaker Amajit Gupta, CEO and Managing Director of Lightstorm Group, will address the conference on the role of AI-driven network automation in managing future connectivity needs. APNIC Director General Jia Rong Low highlighted that AI and other major shifts are placing unprecedented demands on infrastructure, making regional collaboration vital to building scalable, secure systems.
To support this rapid digital expansion, NIXI and APNIC will sign a Memorandum of Understanding during the conference on September 8. The agreement aims to accelerate the deployment of key infrastructure technologies, specifically IPv6 and advanced routing security, ensuring that the underlying networks can reliably support the next generation of AI innovation and digital services.
