Bhubaneswar: BJP National Spokesperson and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi once again came down heavily against the BJD Government and its style of functioning.
Addressing a press conference here today, Shrimati Sarangi said that Odisha is lagging behind in per capita income despite having natural resources and mines. Odisha is counted among bottom five States when it comes to per capita income, she said.
She alleged that the Chief Minister was not seen after the outbreak of Covid pandemic. He has stopped visiting places in the State. I have worked in the Secretariat, which is the heart of the bureaucracy, but surprisingly the CM is not visiting the State Secretariat also, the BJP MP claimed.
Further, the Media in Odisha is not being allowed inside the Secretariat, which sets a wrong governance model, said Shrimati Sarangi.
During elections, The Chief Minister comes to fore and begs for votes. And after the election is over, a ‘Sana Babu’ governs the State for 5 years, she alleged.
“We want the CM not to hand over governance to those who do not have the people’s mandate. The CM should not outsource his government to the Sana babu,” Shrimati Sarangi said, without taking name of the ‘Sana Babu’.
The BJP leader further alleged that the ‘Sana Babu’ had to resign from service for his “wrongdoings” and for the same reason, the ‘5T Vision’ data had to be removed from the website of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
“’Odia Asmita’ is in danger in the State. The Chief Minister should not outsource his government. This license to loot Odisha should be given to the BJD again,” she said.
The people of the State have realized that the ‘Sana Babu’ has been making failed attempts to take over and hijack governance and people’s mandate, she alleged.
Many BJD leaders including MLAs and MPs have joined the BJP only because of the Babu. “Be it the Chief Secretary, DGP, Cabinet Ministers or MLAs, nobody can meet the CM without his permission. It is for this reason that a lot of BJD leaders are quitting the party,” she alleged.
The BJP leader also questioned BJD’s move to nominate the CM from two Assembly seats, Hinjili and Kantabanji, in the heat of the summer.
“The health condition is not so good for the Chief Minister. Why has he been nominated from two constituencies? It is being done to ensure backdoor entry of the ‘Sana Babu’,” she alleged.
Raising Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa, the BJP MP challenged the Government to put up the details of the expenditure entailed in the project in public domain.
“Rs 4,200 crore was spent on the project from the state budget and everything was done in a secretive and non-transparent manner. Rs 800 crore was alone spent on laying the pathway and building 4 toilets. In contrast, the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was built at a cost of Rs 1,400 crore through public donations,” she noted.
