Annual Flower Show Open

Bhubaneswar: Regional Plant Resource Centre, Ekamra Kanan, Bhubaneswar, along with Plant Lovers Association organize a flower show every year. It will run for five long days from January 7 to 11 this year.

Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, said that delegates from different countries of the world, who have come to attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conference, will visit the exhibition and be felicitated by seeing our wreaths and its impressive form.

Inaugurating the state-level flowerexhibition at the Regional Plant Resource Centre, Ekamra Kanan, the Chief Minister said that floral consciousness is a natural achievement andhas played a very important role in our social, cultural and spiritual lives. Flowers are a clear heart without stigma and a symbol of peace and faith.

Ganeshram Singh Khuntia, Minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change was the guest of honour. Other guests include forests, environment and climate change. ACS Home, Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Satyabrata Sahu, Chief Executive, Regional Plant Resource Centre, Suresh Kumar Pant, Administrative Officer, Rituparna Mohapatra and President of Plant Lovers Association Khirod Patnaik were also present on the occasion.

As the softest and most sacred creation of God, it has maintained its charm and importance in every nook and corner of the world since the beginning of creation. Make thedecorations and beautiful surroundings of today’s exhibition very appealing. Today, the new gate complex, multi-coloured gardens and cactus housewere inaugurated here.

More than seventy institutes from different parts of the state have participated in the flower show. Apart from this, cut flowers, banasai and various types of orchids are also on display. A variety of cultural programmes such as Odissi, Chhau, Sambalpuri and Paik dances have been organized. The prize distribution ceremony has been organised to encourage the best performers from various disciplines at the flower show. The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt thanks to all the tree lovers present and wished them to develop our reverence, faith and beauty for this unique boonof nature and strengthen the faith of love for nature.

The annual research report of the Regional Plant Resource Centre for the year 2024-25 and the journal “Greenery”, published courtesy the Plant Lovers Association, was releasedby the Chief Minister.
