“The office-bearers of BJD Student, Youth and Women Wings will also participate in the State Executive Body meeting, ” said party’s Senior Vice-President Debi Prasad Mishra at a presser here today.
However, Shri Mishra did not inform the detailed agenda of the crucial meeting, which was planned days after the joining of BJD President and CM Naveen Patnaik’s most trusted associate VK Pandian in the party.
According to sources, the party may decide the role and responsibility of the new dynamic leader within the party. The party may also change its constitution to create some new posts and sub-posts as per the requirement.
The party will also chalk out its roadmap for the ensuing simultaneous Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections due next year.
As the BJP has won State elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, the BJD will also likely revise its strategy to counter the BJP, which has emerged a principal opposition to the party in Odisha.
The meeting will also hold discussions regarding the celebration of BJD’s 27th foundation day on December 26, Shri Mishra said.
The party has planned to hold marathons, blood donation camps, plantation drives and other social programmes across the State to celebrate its 27th foundation day. A cycle rally from Anand Bhawan in Cuttack to Sankha Bhawan in the capital city will be held on the occasion, he added.
“The 27th foundation day of BJD will be celebrated in all blocks, urban local bodies (ULBs) and 147 Assembly segments in Odisha,” Shri Mishra said.
Meanwhile, BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik in a letter asked party cadres to organise marathons, meetings, blood donation camps and plantation programmes in all the Assembly constituencies, blocks, and in urban local bodies to celebrate the day.
Shri Patnaik said BJD has been working relentlessly with dedication for the development of the people of the State for the last 26 years.
The party which has been working for the development of people and serving people selflessly for the last 26 years has created a praiseworthy identity of its own for its social obligation along with its political programmes among the national as well as regional political parties, he said.
The BJD President further said the party formed on the ideology of Biju Babu has got the support and good wishes of people of the state for the development of all sections of people.
The continuous winning of elections including the general elections, by elections, cooperative elections and in the last election to Panchayat and Urban bodies has proved the people’s faith in the party, Shri Patnaik added.
