Bhubaneswar: Former Ace Administrator, Ashok K Tripathy, President , Odisha State Productivity Council has underscored the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for increasing productivity across various sectors.
Shri Tripathy was speaking in the Productivity Excellence Award ceremony organized by Odisha Productivity Council in collaboration with National Productivity Council.
OSPC and NPC have recognized AI based Productivity Excellence Awards to 35 teams from 17 Industries inside and outside the State.
Productivity Excellence Award ceremony along with Productivity Day Celebration 2024 of Odisha Productivity Council in collaboration with National Productivity Council , Bhubaneswar was held at Hotel Crystal Crown, on 14 May.
Prof Dr Damodar Acharya , Ex Director , IIT and Ex Chairman , AICTE , Sri Atanu Bhowmick , Director I/C , Rourkela Steel Plant , Sri Jagdish Arora , Director , Projects and Technical , Nalco ltd , Sri Avijit Nayak , Regional Director , National Productivity Council graced the ceremony as Chief Guest , Distinguished Guest.
Chief Speaker and Guest of Honour respectively along with Ashok K Tripathy , IAS Retd , President , Odisha State Productivity Council and Debabrata Panigrahi , Honorary Secretary, OSPC, spoke at length.
The dignitaries congratulated the prize winners and advised them to use AI technologies for further increasing the productivity of their organisations.
Awards were presented to 35 technical teams from 17 industries inside and outside the State of Odisha in platinum ( 10 teams ) , gold ( 17 teams ) and silver ( 8 teams ) categories on the basis of an online presentations made by the teams.
The online presentations were made on the basis of work done by the teams on the use of Artificial Intelligence based technologies for increasing the productivity of their organisations and the Jury members had then interacted with them after their presentations.
Excellent work has been done by these teams in the use of AI based technologies for increasing productivity of their Departments.
Odisha Productivity Council along with National Productivity Council , Bhubaneswar had also conducted an essay competition in four universities ( ASBM , KIIT , SOA and IIT , Bhubaneswar ) on the topic AI- Productivity Engine for Economic Growth .
The students were also given presentations on EU AI Act , Productivity , Green Productivity and ESG before the competition and advised to take up courses on AI for enhancing their employability in future.
Three students from each of the four universities were given cash awards and certificates. Top three students among all four universities were also given further cash awards and certificates.
The meeting ended with an excellent saxophone recital by R. Purna Chandra Rao of Berhampur .
