Bhubaneswar: IMAGE, the Institute on Management of Agricultural Extension, hosted a one-day Brainstorming Workshop on Preparation of Training Modules, designed to strengthen capacity building and construct a future-ready training framework for departmental personnel across Odisha.
The workshop brought together key leaders and institutional heads, including senior officials from the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, representatives from Madhusudan Academy, VOTI, and ROTI, alongside principals from all departmental training institutes. Guided by the overarching objective of unity and collective excellence, the participants engaged in collaborative dialogue to modernize learning frameworks.
Shri Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, delivered the keynote address and led the workshop with a clear focus on team leadership and shared responsibility. His guidance emphasized how cohesive teamwork within IMAGE can drive transformative education and skill development across Odisha’s agricultural and allied sectors.
Throughout the session, Directorate Heads actively contributed to aligning institutional goals with frontline requirements. Director of Agriculture and Food Production Shri Subham Saxena, Director of Horticulture Shri Kalunge Gorakh Waman, and Director of Soil Conservation and Watershed Management Shri Subrat Kumar Panda participated in discussions to review existing practices, refine induction curricula across their respective domains, and map out strategic learning roadmaps. Other senior officers also joined the program.
By fostering a spirit of joint accountability and inter-departmental synergy, the workshop succeeded in laying down an actionable roadmap. The modernized modules aim to equip the agricultural workforce with the technical competencies and adaptive skills necessary to address emerging environmental, market, and technological challenges in the sector.
