Balangir: The Municipality of Balangir has achieved a major milestone by receiving recognition from the Housing and Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha, for its outstanding performance in Own Source Revenue collection.
Senior Lawmaker, Shri Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo dedicated this honor entirely to the residents and civic workers of the town.
Speaking on the achievement, Shri Singh Deo praised the leadership and staff of the municipality for scripting this success story. He highlighted how the revenue generated through public contributions is being directly reinvested into the community to improve local infrastructure and environmental sustainability, including the ongoing rejuvenation of eleven ponds across Balangir.
Expressing his gratitude, the local legislator commended the collective effort of the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Councillors, municipal staff, and citizens. He emphasized that the civic body’s financial self-reliance sets an inspiring example of community-driven progress, reinforcing a shared commitment toward building a cleaner, greener, and better-developed Balangir.
