Puri: In a profound testament to accountability and deep-rooted devotion, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has reaffirmed its commitment to managing the sacred assets of Lord Jagannatha with complete transparency.
The revenue of the holy shrine stems primarily from the generous offerings of millions of devotees, proceeds from temple-owned mines, interest earned on fixed deposits, land sales and acquisitions, alongside government grants. Every rupee received is treated as a divine trust. A specified portion is preserved within fixed deposits as a Corpus Fund, another section is maintained as a Foundation Fund, while the remaining balance goes directly into the Temple Fund. This primary Temple Fund powers the day-to-day rituals, operational expenses, and holy services of the ancient shrine, with any surplus continually converted into fixed deposits to secure the Lord’s estate for generations to come.
As of August 31, 2026, the Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration has secured a total of 1811 crore 9 lakh 58 thousand 283 rupees in fixed deposits across these three major schemes. This includes 1311 crore 9 lakh 58 thousand 283 rupees deposited across various nationalized banks, complemented by a dedicated Corpus Fund of 500 crore rupees provided by the Government of Odisha and held in the temple’s Personal Ledger account.
Additionally, current balances across various temple bank accounts—spanning savings, current, and flexi accounts—stand at 100 crore 70 lakh 66 thousand 868 rupees. To ensure total public trust, the contents of the temple hundi are counted every single day, with complete details published immediately on official notice boards and digital platforms for devotees around the globe.
Guiding this wave of administrative discipline is Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration. Known for his relentless work ethic, unwavering integrity, and profound personal devotion to the Lord of the Universe, Dr. Padhee has prioritized complete openness in safeguarding the deity’s wealth.
For the millions of pilgrims who surrender their love and hard-earned contributions at the feet of Mahaprabhu, this open accounting is more than just financial management. It stands as a sacred bridge of trust between the Lord, his dedicated stewards, and the global family of Shree Jagannatha devotees.
