CTTC-B Trains Int’l Youth

Bhubaneswar: The Central Tool Room and Training Centre (CTTC) in Bhubaneswar, operating under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, successfully completed its four-week Summer Internship Training Programme for 2026. The program provided industry-oriented, hands-on technical training to 8,083 engineering students from 22 states and Union Territories across India, as well as 26 international students from Sudan and Yemen.

The training initiative catered to undergraduate students from first to final year, welcoming participants from premier institutions such as the IITs, NITs, deemed universities, and technical polytechnics. The core objective of the four-week courses was to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world industrial practice, enhancing the technical capabilities and employability of youth.

The curriculum covered 39 distinct engineering and technology disciplines. Mechanical engineering saw the highest overall enrolment with 3,193 candidates, followed by Electronics with 2,209 students, IT and Software with 1,948 students, Civil with 388 students, and other emerging fields accounting for 345 participants. In terms of specific subject areas, Artificial Intelligence was the most popular domain with 1,748 students, followed by PLC Programming with 1,000 students, AutoCAD with 991 students, Python Programming with 413 students, and Data Analytics with 392 students. Other offered domains included Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, and Additive Manufacturing.

CTTC Bhubaneswar plays a key role in supporting the tool design, manufacturing, and technical training needs of the MSME sector. Beyond its core training mandates, the center actively contributes to India’s high-technology space and defense programs. It previously manufactured and supplied 54,000 precision components across 437 types for ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission, along with vital components such as regulators, flow control valves, gyroscopes, and navigation parts for the Aditya-L1 solar mission. It also produces precision components for original equipment manufacturers in the aerospace sector, including parts for the Light Combat Aircraft program.
