Bhubaneswar: Bharatiya Janata Party Odisha launched plans for the Seva Sankalpa Abhiyan, a month long public service campaign set to run nationwide from September 17 to October 17. The initiative marks 25 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s public service and nation building journey. A state level workshop was held at the party headquarters in Bhubaneswar to map out implementation strategies.
The meeting was held under the leadership of State President Shri Manmohan Samal. Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, State In-Charge Shri Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, State General Secretary Organization Shri Manas Kumar Mohanty, former State President Shri Samir Mohanty, and Ministers Shri Rabi Narayan Naik, Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, and Shri Sampad Charan Swain attended the meeting.
Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mohapatra serves as the state coordinator for the campaign. He is assisted by co-coordinators Shri Simanchal Khatei and Shrimati Sukeshi Oram, along with committee members Nabarangpur MP Shri Balabhadra Majhi, MLAs Shri Irasis Acharya and Shri Pratap Nayak, former MP Shri Amar Patnaik, and Yuva Morcha State President Shri Abhilash Panda.
The main objective is to deepen the spirit of service and dedication among the public while driving welfare activities for farmers, youth, women, and underprivileged sections. Key elements of the initiative include lighting lamps of gratitude on September 17, holding blood donation drives, organizing student competitions on the vision of Viksit Bharat, and conducting street plays on key public welfare programs.
The campaign will feature local story-sharing sessions, interactive awareness programs at Anganwadi centers, and a Seva Jyoti Yatra across districts. On October 17, the initiative will culminate in the Janasevak Mahakumbh, where around 125,000 public representatives from the panchayat to the parliamentary level are expected to gather and sing all six stanzas of Vande Mataram.
