New Delhi: In a strong message of regional support and neighborhood solidarity, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi engaged in a high-level telephonic conversation with the Prime Minister of Nepal, Shri Balendra Shah, following severe flooding that has disrupted life across several parts of Nepal.
During the exchange, Prime Minister Shri Modi expressed profound sorrow and conveyed his heartfelt condolences on the unfortunate loss of lives caused by the raging floodwaters and landslides. Emphasizing the close historical, cultural, and geographic ties shared between the two nations, Prime Minister Modi assured his counterpart that the people of India stand firmly in solidarity with their brothers and sisters in Nepal during this challenging crisis.
Highlighting India’s commitment as a first responder in the region, Prime Minister Shri Modi reaffirmed that New Delhi remains ready to deploy all necessary humanitarian assistance and disaster relief resources to Nepal. He noted that Indian teams are already in close touch and actively coordinating with Nepalese authorities to facilitate swift rescue efforts, provide relief materials, and assist in managing the aftermath of the natural calamity.
