Bhubaneswar: Galvanized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary call for a drug-free nation, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has issued a stirring clarion call to transform Odisha into a vibrant, addiction-free state. Channeling that national ambition into immediate local action, state government officials gathered today for a collective anti-addiction pledge ceremony organized by the Information and Public Relations Department.
In a decisive step toward building a drug-free society and raising public awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse, the Information and Public Relations Department of the Government of Odisha organized a collective anti-addiction pledge ceremony today.
Director Information and Public Relations, Shri Anuj Kumar Das Patnaik, Additional Secretary Shri Ashok Kumar Behuria, Joint Director Smt. Sucheta Priyadarshini, and Deputy Director Shri Ashwini Kumar Bhoi joined departmental officers and staff members in taking the solemn pledge.
Participating officials and employees vowed to personally abstain from all forms of intoxicating substances while actively committing to educate their families, friends, and communities about the dangers of addiction. This program marks a key component of a massive statewide anti-addiction pledge drive taking place across Odisha today.
The ambitious campaign aims to engage at least 10 percent of the state population, uniting schools, colleges, government offices, panchayats, and various social organizations in a widespread movement to forge a healthier, substance-free future.
