Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government is executing measures to ensure that the farmer registration process for the 2026-27 Kharif paddy procurement season remains transparent, accessible, and hassle-free. Nearly 85,000 farmers across the state have already completed their registration under the ongoing drive.
Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of the Food, Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department, is continuously monitoring the Paddy Procurement Program throughout the state. He is regularly reviewing operations with District Magistrates and Chief District Civil Supplies Officers while providing the necessary direction for smooth paddy procurement.
The current registration drive opened on August 6 and will continue until August 31. Farmers can obtain registration forms free of charge and complete enrollment at their local Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS), Large Area Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPCS), or Pani Panchayats.
Applicants are required to present their Aadhaar card, bank passbook, land records, and a consent letter from the landowner where applicable. During enrollment, society officials enter the farmer’s Aadhaar and mobile details into the Paddy Procurement Automation System (P-PAS). The registration process is finalized by completing e-KYC verification using iris scanners.
Under the updated guidelines for this season, society staff conduct the registration process directly alongside the farmers, allowing applicants to verify all entered data in real time.
For sharecroppers, the application requires the landowner’s Aadhaar number, name, mobile number, and consent letter to be uploaded into P-PAS, along with completing e-KYC verification for the landowner. If an applicant registers land with multiple shareholders, consent letters from all relevant co-owners must also be uploaded into P-PAS.
Farmers who do not currently possess an AgriStack ID can complete AgriStack registration at a later time. AgriStack serves as a unified digital platform designed to integrate essential farmer data across state agricultural systems.
The registration campaign is being conducted through synchronized efforts across four state departments: Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, Cooperation, Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, and Revenue and Disaster Management. To guide applicants on-site, Village Agricultural Workers (VAW) and Revenue Inspectors (RI) are stationed at registration centers to provide necessary support.
The department advises all eligible farmers to complete their paddy procurement registration as early as possible to avoid any last-minute difficulties.
