Bhubaneswar: In order to strengthen the agricultural ecosystem and empower farming communities, Shri Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, highlighted the transformative role of ex-servicemen in building modern, sustainable agribusinesses across Odisha.
Speaking at a comprehensive workshop titled Agri-preneurial Prospects for Ex-Servicemen under Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana held at Krushi Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, Secretary Shri Jadhav emphasized how combining military dedication with state-backed farming initiatives can drive growth in agriculture and allied sectors.
Addressing the gathering during the inaugural session, AGRI Secretary, Shri Jadhav pointed out that ex-servicemen bring unparalleled discipline, leadership, and resilience—qualities essential for managing successful agricultural ventures and advancing the state’s rural economy. He reaffirmed the department’s firm commitment to guiding veterans and farming enthusiasts through the Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana, ensuring direct financial subsidies, technical knowledge, and streamlined administrative support to turn them into leading agri-entrepreneurs.
The workshop also featured technical sessions focused on expanding investment opportunities and empowering local producers. Strategic vision and thematic support were shared by Shri Shubhranshu Mishra, Managing Director of APICOL, along with Shri Sriram Panda, Convenor, and Col Sujan Mohanty (Retd.), Co-Convenor of the Agri and Food Processing Committee at the ICC Odisha State Council, in the presence of Lt. Gen. Jayanta Kumar Mohanty (Retd.).
