New Delhi: In a major push to position Odisha as a premier national hub for food processing, the state government hosted Odisha Food Pro 2026 in New Delhi, marking its first sector-focused investment roadshow organized outside the state.
Led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the event showcased Odisha’s ambition to integrate its rich agricultural and marine wealth with modern manufacturing, export channels, and global markets. Minister Industries, Shri Sampad Swain, Chief Secretary Smt.Anu Garg, ACS Home, Industries and I&PR Shri Hemant Sharma, and other were present.
ASSOCHAM Odisha State Development Council Chairman Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, UCCIL President Shri Prabodh Kumar Mohanty and Captains of Industry joined with the Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi and Team Odisha in the Mega Investment Road Show. The Road Show was organised by Assocham New Delhi along with Assocham Odisha for the Government of Odisha.
The roadshow generated significant commercial interest, securing cumulative investment proposals valued at Rs 43,437 crore with the potential to create over 43,000 employment opportunities across the state. A total of 27 Memorandums of Understanding worth Rs 41,748 crore were executed during the event, alongside 12 Investment Intent Forms representing an additional Rs 1,689 crore in proposed ventures.
Speaking to an audience of over 300 industry leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs, Chief Minister Majhi highlighted that food processing serves as a essential bridge between farm prosperity, rural transformation, and industrial growth. He emphasized that the state’s vision focuses on processing a higher volume of local agricultural and marine produce within Odisha to boost farm incomes, empower self-help groups, support farmer producer organizations, and generate skilled jobs for youth.
To support this industrial expansion, the Chief Minister unveiled a strategic roadmap built on key pillars, including the setup of dedicated food processing clusters, expansion of cold chain and warehousing facilities, strengthening of quality certification systems, and closer integration of micro, small, and medium enterprises with large industrial players. Odisha’s competitive advantages, such as its 575-kilometer coastline, ten distinct agro-climatic zones, expanding logistics network, and investor-friendly governance, were featured as core drivers for sustainable long-term economic growth.
