Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society marked a major milestone in its ongoing digital transformation with the official launch of its revamped web portal. The portal was inaugurated by Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia, Minister for Forest, Environment & Climate Change, during a special event held at Aranya Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force Dr. K. Murugesan, OFSDP Project Director Shri G Rajesh, CAMPA Odisha CEO Shri T. Ashok Kumar, OFSDP-II Joint Project Director Smt. Rinku Kumari, and Chief Conservator of Forests (GIS & IT) Shri V. Karthick, along with other senior officers attended the program.
Under the leadership of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Nodal) and OFSDP Project Director Shri G. Rajesh, the Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project continues to drive key advancements in sustainable forest management, community participation, and digital governance across the state.
During the event, the Minister Shri Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia formally released the OFSDP Phase II Annual Report for 2025–26, which outlines the progress, strategic goals, and conservation achievements spearheaded by the project team. The souvenir for the 14th National Workshop was also officially released.
Organised alongside the inauguration of the Integrated Forest Monitoring and Command Centre, the ceremony served as the backdrop for launching several other critical forestry management tools. These included the launch of the Compulsory Afforestation Land Bank in Degraded Revenue Forest Land, the Odisha Forest Management System 2.0, and the web application for the Integrated Forest Monitoring and Command Centre.
Through these combined digital tools and systematic monitoring efforts, Shri G. Rajesh and the OFSDP-II team aim to streamline operational efficiency, improve transparency, and support long-term ecological balance in Odisha’s forest landscapes.
