OPHWC Achieves Record ₹1,520 Cr Turnover

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation Limited (OPHWC) has achieved its highest-ever financial milestones, showcasing robust growth and an expanding footprint in the state’s infrastructure sector under the leadership of Chairman and Managing Director Shri Saumyendra Kumar Priyadarsi, IPS.

In a significant ceremony held at the Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall today, Shri Priyadarsi handed over a record dividend cheque of ₹21.28 crore for the financial year 2024–25 to Smt. Anu Garg, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Odisha. The event took place in the presence of Shri R K Sharma, IPS, Special Secretary, Home Department, alongside other senior administrative and police officials.

This payout represents the highest-ever dividend declared by the Corporation since it began contributing to the state exchequer in the financial year 2014-15, pushing its cumulative dividend contribution to the State Government to ₹86.05 crore. Operating as a completely self-sustaining Public Sector Undertaking, OPHWC continues to meet all its financial obligations entirely through internal resources.

The financial performance of the Corporation reflects an upward trajectory, with OPHWC recording a peak turnover of approximately ₹1,520 crore during the financial year 2025–26. This marks an impressive 11% growth over the previous year’s turnover of ₹1,366 crore, solidifying its position as a leading state PSU in the construction domain.

Beyond financial success, the Corporation has consistently earned national accolades for project execution and structural quality. Under the guidance of Shri Priyadarsi, OPHWC was recently conferred the prestigious Chairman Commendation Award by the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), under NITI Aayog, for two major projects: the Commissionerate of Police building in Bhubaneswar in 2025, and the New Hostel Building at the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration in 2026.

OPHWC is currently spearheading several landmark and high-value infrastructure projects across Odisha. Among its iconic urban assignments are the Tarakasi Hub in Cuttack, the Excise Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, and the new model and district jails in Bhubaneswar and Jajpur. Diversifying beyond department-specific housing, the Corporation has also been entrusted with multi-sector projects, including the construction of Atal Bus Stands for OSRTC across the state, strategic truck terminals, tourism infrastructure at the Dumduma Waterfall and Jiranga, and the prestigious Blue Flag Beach project at Paradeep.

With a proven track record of financial prudence, operational excellence, and timely execution, the Corporation continues to play a vital role in supporting the development goals of the Government of Odisha while significantly modernizing the state’s public infrastructure.
