From Waste Plants To Aahar Plates

Paradip: In a departure from the conventional protocol of top bureaucrats opting for luxury resorts or high-end dining during official visits to the port town of Paradip, Shrimati Usha Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Housing and Urban Development Department, chose a completely different path during her field visit today. Demonstrating her deep concern and sensitivity toward the common man and woman, she moved to the local Aahar Centre to have her lunch alongside ordinary citizens.

The visit to the affordable meal center was a major highlight of her comprehensive field inspection, which focused on evaluating infrastructure and public welfare projects across Paradip Municipality. By sit-down dining with the public, Smt. Padhee personally assessed the quality of food, hygiene standards, and service delivery under the state’s flagship subsidized meal initiative. Expressing satisfaction over the nutritious meals served to urban laborers and common residents, she instructed municipal officials to consistently maintain these standards of sanitation and citizen-centric service.

Earlier in the day, her urban development centric tour included a detailed review of the municipal Waste Management Centre. There, she examined the solid waste management setup and processing operations, advising authorities to adopt modern, environmentally sustainable technologies to transform Paradip into a cleaner and healthier urban hub. She also inspected the site earmarked for the proposed modern Convention Centre, emphasizing strict adherence to project timelines and quality standards without compromise.

The field visit concluded with a high-level review meeting where Smt. Padhee assessed all ongoing municipal works. Flanked by the Executive Officer of Paradip Municipality and senior department engineers, she directed all officials to speed up pending infrastructure projects and ensure transparent, accountable delivery of civic services to the residents of the port town.
