Bhubaneswar: In a move to accelerate infrastructure development across Odisha, a high-level review meeting was held to address critical bottleneck issues related to the shifting of electrical utilities. The collaborative session focused on clearing hurdles for major ongoing road and highway network projects in the state.
The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Minister of Law, Works, and Excise Shri Prithviraj Harichandan. The discussions aimed to resolve long-standing coordination challenges between the energy sector and various construction wings executing essential communication lines.
Senior administrative leadership actively participated in the strategy session, including Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Shri Vishal Kumar Dev and Principal Secretary, Works Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, alongside other department heads.
Key agencies represented at the forum included the Department of Works, Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation Limited (OB&CC Ltd.), and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Following the deliberations, Principal Secretary, Works Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh characterized the outcome of the meeting as highly productive, stating that it will successfully clear obstacles to enable faster highway connections throughout the region.
To streamline the utility relocation process moving forward, the state government announced the upcoming launch of a dedicated, interactive web portal. This digital platform will be designed to facilitate seamless, real-time coordination between infrastructure developers and the energy department, minimizing project delays. This inter-departmental synergy highlights Odisha’s ongoing administrative focus on driving timely delivery of major infrastructure milestones.
