Team CII Meets CM

Bhubaneswar: In a bold move aimed at boosting regional industrial cooperation, the newly elected leadership of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Odisha State Council called on Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi at the Lok Seva Bhavan today. The courtesy meeting focused primarily on strategic preparations for hosting the upcoming high-profile CII Eastern Region Conference in Odisha.

The delegation was led by the newly appointed CII Odisha Chapter Chairman, Shri Anil Singh, and Vice Chairman, Shri Manikanta Nayak. The meeting was also attended by Shri Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) for Home, Industries, and Information & Public Relations.

During the discussions, the Chief Minister and the industry leaders deliberated upon the roadmap for the Eastern Region Conference, which is set to bring together captains of industry, policy experts, and stakeholders from neighboring states, including West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh, alongside Odisha. The summit will provide a crucial platform to design a shared developmental framework, explore cross-border value chains, and leverage the natural resources and human capital of Eastern India to foster inclusive regional growth.

The interaction underscores the state’s proactive stance in creating an ecosystem highly conducive to business expansion. Odisha has been consistently attracting the highest volume of industrial investments in recent times, emerging as a premier investment destination across the country.

Industry insiders credit this investment surge to the strategic overdrive led by ACS Shri Hemant Sharma. His focused efforts in formulating and executing an industry-friendly Industrial Policy have substantially enhanced the ease of doing business, streamlined single-window clearances, and generated confidence among global and domestic corporations.

The new CII leadership team reiterated its commitment to aligning industry goals with the socio-economic vision of the state government. By prioritizing sectors such as downstream metals, manufacturing, technology-led growth, port infrastructure, and clean energy transition, the state administration and CII aim to establish Odisha as a globally competitive hub for innovation and enterprise, while creating substantial employment opportunities
