Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has initiated comprehensive administrative and spiritual preparations to ensure a seamless and disciplined execution of the upcoming annual Rath Jatra and its associated holy rituals.
Recognizing that every festival of Lord Jagannatha is deeply intertwined with the spiritual emotions of millions of devotees worldwide, Law Minister Shri Prithviraj Harichandan stressed that organizing the mega event smoothly remains a paramount responsibility for the state.
ACS Revenue & Disaster Management & Chief Administrator, SJTA, Dr.Arabinda Kumar Padhee and Principal Secretary Law, Dr.Pabitra Mohan Samal Puri Collector Shri Dibyajyoti Parida, and Superintendent of Police Shri Prateek Singh attended the meeting.
Presiding over a high-level review meeting Minister Shri Harichandan engaged in detailed deliberations with representatives from the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the Puri district administration, police forces, and the Daitapati Nijog.
The discussions centered strictly on maintaining the sanctity and punctuality of the sacred timelines. Key focus areas included streamlining the daily rituals, executing the Pahandi and chariot pulling within scheduled periods, and managing the Adap Mandap Bije.
To elevate the spiritual experience for visiting pilgrims, the administration outlined advanced strategies for crowd management, including specialized barricading and systematic darshan protocols. Special emphasis was placed on sensitizing the serving servitors and police personnel regarding their holy duties.
Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration Chief Administrator Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee confirmed that initial arrangements are already moving smoothly. He shared updates on the seasonal procurement of holy logs for chariot construction, specialized ropes, specific chariot fabrics, and essential ritual ingredients such as sandalwood and incense.
The high-level strategy session was attended by several top administrative and socio-religious leaders, Daitapati Nijog President Ganesh Das Mohapatra and General Secretary Ramakrishna Das Mohapatra contributed vital inputs, ensuring that the spiritual traditions and administrative safety measures remain perfectly aligned for the upcoming congregation.
