Bhubaneswar: An intensifying heatwave combined with local Kalbaisakhi activity will dominate the weather pattern over the next seven days, according to the latest weekly forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department regional center in Bhubaneswar.
According to the local forecast data, Bhubaneswar is experiencing a current temperature of 33 degrees Celsius, with the humidity level standing at 72 percent and a south wind blowing at 12 mph. For the immediate 24-hour period, daytime conditions will remain partly sunny with a high of 38 degrees Celsius and a low of 29 degrees Celsius. A 15 percent chance of rain is expected during the day, accompanied by a southwest wind at 12 mph.
Moving into the upcoming week, meteorologists predict a notable shift toward unstable weather tomorrow, with scattered thunderstorms forecast and daytime precipitation chances rising to 35 percent. Following this brief disruption, mid-week weather will turn intensely hot and clear. Both Wednesday and Thursday are projected to hit a peak high temperature of 40 degrees Celsius under sunny to mostly sunny skies.
The latter half of the week will see the return of intermittent convective activity. The meteorological center expects scattered thunderstorms to develop again on Friday and Saturday, with daytime rain chances hovering between 30 and 35 percent and daytime highs maintaining a steady 38 degrees Celsius.
The week will conclude on a clear note, as Sunday brings sunny conditions with a high of 38 degrees Celsius and a low of 30 degrees Celsius, driven by a south wind of 11 mph. Residents are advised to stay updated on shifting afternoon conditions as the week progresses.
