New Delhi: Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan visited the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters today, May 3, 2026, to personally supervise the execution of the NEET UG 2026 examination.
His visit was primarily aimed at ensuring the integrity and smooth conduct of the test, which remains one of the largest and most high-stakes entrance exams in the country.
During the visit, the Minister focused on several critical operational areas. He reviewed the logistics required to manage nearly 23 lakh registered candidates and inspected the real-time monitoring systems designed to prevent malpractices.
Officials provided the Minister with detailed briefings on the coordination efforts between the NTA headquarters and the various examination centers spread across 551 cities in India and 14 locations abroad.
The visit comes at a time when the government has significantly increased its focus on examination security. Recent reports indicate that the NTA, in collaboration with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, has been actively monitoring digital platforms to curb the spread of misinformation and fake papers.
By visiting the control room, the Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to a transparent and fair testing environment.
The NEET UG 2026 serves as the primary gateway for students seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, and other allied medical courses. With a massive turnout of candidates, the Minister’s presence at the NTA headquarters was intended to verify that strict disciplinary protocols and biometric verification systems were functioning effectively to maintain the sanctity of the medical entrance process.
