New Delhi: The National Rifle Association of India celebrated its 75th anniversary in New Delhi with a vision to transform the country into a global shooting superpower. Union Minister Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
Speaking at the milestone event, NRAI President Shri Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo emphasized that the occasion is as much about shaping a bold future as it is about reflecting on a legacy that has already produced over 570 international medals and seven Olympic honors.
To mark seven and a half decades of excellence, the federation announced an ambitious grassroots initiative aimed at introducing 750,000 school and college students to the sport before the 2028 Olympics. This program, known as the 10 shot experience, will be rolled out nationwide in partnership with major educational bodies like the CBSE and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan to identify and nurture young talent at an early stage.

Innovation was a central theme of the anniversary, highlighted by the launch of the MyNRAI Athlete App. This digital platform makes the NRAI the first fully digitized sports federation in India, providing a comprehensive ecosystem for athlete registration, performance tracking, and certification.
President Shri Singh Deo noted that these technological advancements are essential for building a more inclusive and accessible environment for the next generation of shooters.
The roadmap for the future also includes the upcoming Shooting League of India. This franchise-based competition is designed to make shooting more spectator-friendly and commercially viable, further mainstreaming the sport. With the support of the Union Ministry for Youth Affairs and Sports, the NRAI aims to maintain India’s momentum on the world stage by professionalizing high-performance systems and expanding the talent pipeline through these massive outreach efforts.
