Bhubaneswar: The 19th edition of Odisha Manaska by All Things Odisha, held on Sunday, brought together people from various walks of life to discuss and reflect upon the intersection of climate, culture and women in Odisha. Shedding lights upon the topic of the session “Women’s Autonomy, Ecological Sustainability, and Cultural Survival: An Odisha Perspective”, around 25 participants shared their points of view and listened to each other.
After a short break, Odisha Manaska restarted its monthly circle yesterday, where young journalist Aishwarya Mohanty, special correspondent, The Migration Story, who has been renowned for her extensive reporting on gender, climate justice, rural development and social equity, and researcher Jasmine Giri, who has been working on climate change, migration and gender with coastal communities in Odisha, shared their thoughts and insights from the field, anecdotes from their lived experiences, challenges of covering these issues and more.
More importantly, the participants included several youngsters working and aspiring to work in the intersection of gender, climate and culture shared their theoretical knowledge as well as practical insights, while making the entire session interactive, insightful, and enlightening.
The session was conducted by Sandip Bal and Sonali Priyadarsini. The gathering included right to food activist Samit Panda, social entrepreneur Sangam Agrawal, social impact practitioners Monalisa, Akankshita, Jayprakash, and several research scholars.
All Things Odisha, a Bhubaneswar-based aspiring think tank and collective wisdom miner has been hosting it physical conversation forum Odisha Manaska at the head office of ExtraOdinari and Safe Odisha For Her (SOFH) in Saheed Nagar.
Odisha Manaska was initiated in August 2024 to enable discussions on matters related to individuals and their Identities in all its forms, and gather collective wisdom, where each individual shares their thoughts, ideas, views and lived experiences.
